My wife and I got this bottle for Christmas from my brother and his wife, and looked forward to saving it for a special occasion. What is a better day than Valentine's Day? The wine is composed of 100% Pinot Noir grown in 2016 and bottled in 2017. Before bottling the grapes were aged for 15 months in 70% new French Oak. The grapes are grown on the Wayfarer Farm and the Hallberg Vineyard, in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, California.
The wine has a dark garnet color and smells of earth, spices, pepper, and berries. The wine tasted of back raspberries, cherries, and oak. The wine drank like silk and was very elegant, round, and balanced. Went great with crab cakes and dessert. I gave the wine a 92.
