The 5 Vegas brand has been a favorite of mine since the beginning. All the lines are wonderful, and the best part about it is that there is a blend/line suitable for everyone. Besides their limited annual releases this is one of the newest line in the family. The Triple A is the second maduro in the brand and the greatest part about it is the wrapper. This cigar was released in 2019, and since then they have released a 5 Vegas Gold Maduro covered with same wrapper but it is a completely different cigar. I will try that out next! Covering the filler tobaccos from the top regions of Nicaragua is a Pennsylvania Broadleaf maduro wrapper. The wrapper is incredibly oily and toothy and is just beautiful, it exerts aromas of wonderful rich and spicy characteristics. The greatest thing of this wrapper is how rare it is, there are fewer then 10 cigars in the world that are covered with a Pennsylvania Broadleaf, this is probably the second best one in my opinion.
Pennsylvania Broadleaf is very difficult to work with, I have been told getting PA Broadleaf to get as black as it is takes a lot of time, patience, and money, without those three things you are usually left with a dark marble color wrapper that has a poor look and feels very rough. AJ Fernandez has done very well in using this wrapper, in fact AJ is probably a demigod, but I will talk about that later. The wrapper is very unique in that it has the thickness of its sister leaf Connecticut, but has spiciness, espresso, and leather flavors that its sister lacks because of the soil in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The wrapper is really wonderful and if you have never had one you should try out a sampler of some cigars covered with it. Try it out!
Pennsylvania Broadleaf Sampler
The cigar comes only in one size, measuring 5" in length and a ring gauge of 56. When you pick this up the cigar is very heavy in your hand and that comes from how densely packed this cigar truly is. Each puff begins with a lot of spice and pepper and finishes with a nice chocolaty earth, and nut flavor. This cigar is very, very rich! Along with those flavors the wrapper exudes some nice espresso and toasty notes making it fuller in body. The finish on this cigar is wonderful from the flavors and it remains with you long after each puff. This cigar has a ton going on in it, I mean its very complex, but it never bores you and always keeps you on your toes and guessing. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. If you are a maduro fan, try this! If you are a full body fan, try this! If you are looking for a full flavor cigar, try this! If you enjoy cigars, try this! Heck everyone should try it! 94, BAM!
