Worldwide Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A. has announced the release of a cigar made especially for women: the Romeo y Julieta Julieta, a 4 ¾-inch long, 33 ring gauge petit cigar.
Habanos said the Julieta size was created not only to please female cigar smokers, but in honor of the company's female employees who are essential to the manufacture of Cuban cigars.

I think this is a great idea and I love that Habanos S.A. is doing this! For all of you that don't know what Habanos S.A. is, it is a Cuban joint venture with the share capital owned 50-50 by Cubatabaco, a Cuban Government company and Altadis, a Spanish company owned by Imperial Tobacco Group PLC, a British Tobacco Company.
They are responsible for distributing Cuban cigars worldwide.
I think it is important for everyone to recognize the involvement of women in the cigar industry. Most workers in a cigar factory are women and they are women because they are more delicate and attentive. Their hands are smaller so they are able to be more precise and smooth while working then men are.
I think that really applies to everything, not just working on cigars but that is neither here nor there.
I think this is a fun and creative thing Habanos is doing and it doesn't surprise me that they are and manufacturers for the States aren't. I can't image any company in Central America or the DR doing it, they would consider it a waste of time or product. I am not a women but I do appreciate that Habanos S.A. is saluting the women in the industry.
