Seth's Humidor

When Gran Habano decided to release the Azteca I was very excited and eager. The line sports a San Andres wrapper and binder and then has tobacco from Panama and Nicaragua for the filler. Their goal was to release a maduro cigar that was very full flavor but not overpowering. They succeeded. I enjoyed this cigar with some nice Mexican Hot Chocolate tonight because I have had it before and I thought the flavors would play well together.

Throughout this smoke you get lots of chili flakes, nuts, toast, coffee, mocha, earth, and leather. It is very rich and thoroughly enjoyable throughout. The smoke was very creamy and easy but never lost its flavor. I thought the Mexican hot chocolate and cigar played well of one another, and were able to get lots of flavors from both because of it.  I don't ever have hot chocolate with my cigars, but this cigar is so rich and spicy it reminds me of Mexican hot chocolate, and I thought I would give it a try.

I would recommend this smoke for all maduro fans and for those looking for more flavorful less powerful smokes. This is a fun evening smoke, that you can sit back and relax and taste the comforting flavors that I associate with Central America. I gave this cigar a 90.

P.S. (almost forgot)
To all Gran Habano fans, if you loved the 3 Siglos like I did, then you are in for a disappointment. With the release of the Azteca, Gran Habano stopped production on the 3 Siglos and Cabinet Selection. Do I think this cigar is worth those two? Probably not the 3 Siglos, but Cabinet Selection yes.
